Open Position(s)

  • Nigerian Mental Health (NMH) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Program Manager based in Abuja to drive effective coordination and collaboration among various program teams, ensuring the successful implementation of mental health initiatives. If you are passionate about mental health advocacy, have at least 5 years of relevant work experience, and thrive in a dynamic team environment, we invite you to apply. This is a paid position.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Coordination and Collaboration:

    • Ensure seamless coordination between program teams, including Policy & Advocacy, Monitoring & Evaluation, Communications, Learning, and Wellness & Support for Communities.

    • Facilitate cross-team collaboration to achieve common goals and objectives.

    2. Policy and Strategy Development:

    • Participate in co-developing mental health and organizational system-strengthening policies and strategies.

    • Represent NMH in cross-team events and activities, contributing to the development of comprehensive, impactful policies.

    3. Project Management:

    • Manage project activities, ensuring timely and successful implementation.

    • Oversee research initiatives related to mental health, providing valuable insights to inform NMH's programs and advocacy efforts.

    4. Communication:

    • Collaborate with the Communications team to develop and execute effective communication strategies.

    • Ensure clear and consistent messaging across various channels.

    5. Technical Assistance and Support:

    • Provide technical assistance and support to NMH members and development partners.

    • Collaborate with program teams to enhance the impact of mental health initiatives.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in program management, preferably in the mental health sector.

    • Strong project management skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deadlines.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Demonstrated experience in policy development and cross-team collaboration.

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.

  • Nigerian Mental Health (NMH) is offering an exciting opportunity for passionate individuals to join us as Mental Health Interns. This remote and unpaid internship is designed for candidates looking to gain valuable hands-on experience in the mental health sector, contribute to meaningful initiatives, and develop skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

    Internship Period: 6 months to 1 year (Flexible duration based on candidate availability)

    Responsibilities:

    1. Support Program Teams:

    • Assist various program teams, including, Communications, Operations, Wellness & Research.

    • Participate in team meetings, contributing ideas and insights.

    2. Research and Analysis:

    • Research mental health topics to inform NMH's programs and advocacy efforts.

    • Analyze data and present findings clearly and concisely.

    3. Administrative Support:

    • Provide administrative support as needed for program activities and events.

    • Assist in organizing workshops, webinars, and other program-related initiatives.

    4. Learning Opportunities:

    • Attend relevant training sessions and workshops to enhance your knowledge of mental health issues.

    • Engage in learning opportunities to build a strong foundation in mental health advocacy.

    Qualifications:

    • A passion for mental health advocacy and a commitment to making a positive impact.

    • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant academic program.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Basic knowledge of mental health issues is a plus.
